Deputies arrest suspect in April crash that killed Franklin Pierce student

Deputies arrested a 25-year-old man Wednesday night suspected of vehicular homicide in a crash that killed a 17-year-old Franklin Pierce High School student in April.

Officials had been awaiting toxicology results. Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said the suspect was arrested without incident Wednesday.

The News Tribune does not generally name suspects before they have been formally charged with a crime.

Quinnton Dimmitt, 17, died when the 25-year-old police said was speeding and possibly intoxicated hit him in an intersection April 25 at Waller Road East and 84th Street East.

Dimmitt's family said he had been driving to get coffee for his mother.
