A man hit and killed while standing behind his vehicle in downtown Tacoma will be honored with a blessing Tuesday.

Mark Nigh, 56 of University Place, died May 25, two days after he was hit by a truck while making a delivery to 776 Commerce Street.

Associated Ministries will hold a 1 p.m. ceremony at the site, called a Moment of Blessing. The brief worship services are meant to mark and reclaim places where homicides have happened.

The public is welcome. For more information, call 253-426-1506.

The driver in the wreck that killed Nigh has been charged with vehicular homicide. According to charging papers, hospital staff found methamphetamine on his person.
