June 9, 2014

The Washington Aerospace Scholars program has selected high school students to participate in one of four WAS Summer Residency sessions held in June and July at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

These scholars are among the 160 students that qualified for the program from 308 students that applied. Students qualified for the residency program by spending five months studying a University of Washington- and NASA-designed online curriculum and were selected based on their academic performance.

Selected from local schools: Chloe McClellan, Bethel High School: Steven Huynh and Miranda VonPaige, Harrison Preparatory School; Alex Fenn and Satchel Smidt, Gig Harbor High School; Erik Peterson, Charles Wright Academy; Catherine Lirazan, Tacoma Baptist High School; Stasia Kulsa, Bonney Lake High School; and Emily Yeh, Henry Foss High School.
