TACOMA: High school student honored as hidden hero

June 9, 2014

Mikala Davis of Lincoln High School has been named one of two statewide winners of the Cosmic Hero Award by the Sidekick Collective, which supports “hidden hero” students who embody comic book hero values such as selflessness, courage and creativity. This was the first year the awards were presented.

Davis’ award was presented in a surprise ceremony Tuesday at Lincoln. She was honored for her skills as a natural mentor and peer counselor to other students at Lincoln. She works to earn money for college and is captain of the Lincoln cheerleading squad.
