MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ty Kelly hit a home run in the top of the 12th inning to give the Tacoma Rainiers a come-from-behind 3-2 victory in a rain-delayed Pacific Coast League game against the Memphis Redbirds on Monday night.
The Rainiers (26-37) spotted Memphis (31-33) a 2-0 lead after two innings.
Logan Morrison’s RBI single in the seventh cut Tacoma’s deficit in half. The Rainiers tied the game in the top of the eighth on Jabari Blash’s RBI double.
Seattle rehabbing starter Taijuan Walker allowed four hits with a walk and three strikeouts over five innings.
Former Mariners closer David Aardsma pitched two innings of shutout relief for Memphis, striking out four.
The series continues at 5 p.m. (PDT) Tuesday. Tacoma will start right-hander Matt Palmer (1-2, 2.14 ERA) against Memphis right-hander Zach (3-3, 4.47).
