Staff writerJune 12, 2014

A man who died in a Sunday wreck in Auburn was Josh M. Colson, police said Thursday.

Police spokesman Mike Hirman said Colson is the co-owner of Auburn Brake and Muffler.

Colson was in the passenger seat of a vehicle headed south in the 700 block of Auburn Way North, when it crashed into a power pole just after 2 a.m., according to police. No other vehicles were involved.

Colson did not appear to be wearing a seat belt, and died at the scene.

The woman driving the car is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Hirman said.

Both Colson and driver are in their early 40s.

Hirman said investigators as still working to determine what caused the wreck. Future vehicular homicide charges are possible, he said.

Further details were not immediately available. Check back for updates.
