American Lake is South Sound's biggest beneficiary of Father's Day fish stocking

American: The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife are stocking 20 lakes with 10,000 triploid rainbow for Father’s Day weekend and no South Sound Lake is getting more of those fish than American Lake. The lake gets 1,500 trout.

Kokanee fishing is already hot and the perch are biting too.

Clear: Recently stocked with 250 rainbow trout.

Hicks: The Father’s Day weekend stocking effort means 250 new rainbow trout.

Horseshoe: This Clark County lake has been stocked with 250 trout.

Mason: Stocked recently with 500 triploid rainbows for Father’s Day weekend.

Vance Creek: Pond No. 2 in Elma was recently stocked with 100 rainbow trout.

Spanaway: Plenty of fish to catch here with anglers regularly hitting their limits on rainbows and browns, Bud Herlitzka of the Spanaway Lake Boat House said earlier this week.

Tanwax: Rainbow RV Resort hosts its annual fishing derby on Saturday, June 14, starting at 6 a.m. They’ve stocked the lake with 150 rainbows. PowerBait is working well for anglers, although pressure has been light of late.
