Police were investigating an apparent homicide Sunday morning after a body was found in Renton.

Police responded at about 8 a.m. to a report of a man unconscious in a doorway and bleeding in the 2800 block of Northeast Sunset Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old homeless man lying in an alcove at the back of a closed business. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and had obvious blunt force injuries to the head, police said.

Witnesses told police there was another homeless man who had been belligerent and was nearby. Officers found that man at a store and arrested him.

Renton police are not looking for outstanding suspects and the investigation remains ongoing.
