Tacoma firefighters resuscitated two puppies after putting out an apartment fire early Tuesday, according to the department.
Crews were called to the blaze in the 700 block of South I Street shortly before 3 a.m. and extinguished the flames, which were contained to a single unit.
Nobody was injured but the puppies inhaled a lot of smoke so firefighters turned their attention on them. The brown-and-white pups are expected to survive.
Investigators said the fire appears to have started in the kitchen and damage to the apartment was minimal. The Red Cross is helping two adults and the puppies relocate.
