Christian musician John Michael Talbot will play St. Charles Borromeo Catholic church this weekend. A Christian music singer-songwriter since the 1970s, Talbot was a pioneer in the genre and is still hugely popular, with his own TV series and around 51,000 Facebook fans. 7 p.m. June 24. Shoe history at White River Valley Museum

Opening this week at Auburn’s White River Valley Museum is “Sole Obsession,” an exhibit covering 100 years and 100 pairs of women’s dress shoes from the last century. Everything from beaded white 1910 wedding pumps to Barbie-doll Spring-o-laters from the 1950s offers a new angle on women’s history. Events include a girls’ overnight fashion event (ages 7-12, 7 p.m.-8 a.m. July 18, $30); a kids’ play date (ages 3-12, 6-8 p.m. Aug. 7, free); and cocktails with the curator (21+, 7 p.m. Sept. 17, $25). Tacoma Singing Society at Mason United Methodist

Under the director of Puget Sound Revels’ music director Megan Oberfeld, the Tacoma Singing Society offers much of the same delightful a cappella choral music: folktunes, shapenote tunes, spirituals, glees and chorales in languages from Swedish to Hungarian. 7:30 p.m. June 21. $15. Shiga and Wohlers combine for Christ Church organ recital

Tacoma keyboard couple Naomi Shiga and Jonathan Wohlers are the organists at this Friday’s monthly recital at Christ Church Episcopal. Shiga, director of music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal and Wohlers, director of music at Trinity Lutheran in Parkland, are both international touring artists, and will play a German program of Praetorius, Scheidemann, Bach and a duo by Adolph Friedrich Hesse. 12:10 p.m. June 20.
