Weekly wages in Pierce unchanged, Thurston up in Q4

The average weekly wage for workers in Pierce County, $869, was unchanged in the fourth quarter, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.

In Thurston County, the average weekly wage of $860 was up 2.4 percent from the year before.

The average King County wage, $1,300, was up 1.9 percent.

Among other large counties in the state, only Kitsap County recorded a decline, down 1.3 percent to $847.

Nationwide, California’s Santa Cruz County showed the highest increase, up 6.5 percent, or $55 per week.

Workers in San Mateo County, California, earned the highest weekly wage in the fourth quarter, at $2,724.

The average weekly wage of all U.S. workers, $1,000, was unchanged in the quarter.
