Surf Day festivities set for Tacoma

Saturday, June 21, is Surfing Day and the South Sound chapter of the Surfrider Foundation plans to celebrate with a party at 3:30 p.m. at the Swiss, 1904 Jefferson Ave, Tacoma.

The event will include a screening of the classic surf movie “Endless Summer,” and a raffle for a Jack Johnson concerts. There will be a beach cleanup at 10 a.m. at Chambers Bay.

The chapter hosts a beach cleanup on the third Saturday of every month, and focuses on a number of area beaches.
