Alaska Airlines begins rolling out handful of new nonstop destinations from Sea-Tac

Staff writerJune 20, 2014

Alaska Airlines Friday launched new nonstop service from Sea-Tac Airport to Tampa.

The new daily service to the Florida city is among of several new routes Alaska is beginning to serve this summer.

The SeaTac-based carrier last week launched new service to New Orleans.

The airline also is scheduled to begin new nonstop service before summer’s end to Baltimore, Detroit and Albuquerque.

Alaska is expanding its route map in part as a response to Delta Air Lines’ expansion of its new flight offerings in Seattle. The Atlanta-based carrier will have 86 daily flights from Sea-Tac by August.

The new flight to Tampa leaves Sea-Tac at 8:50 a.m. and arrives in Tampa at 5:30 p.m. It returns from Tampa at 6:30 p.m. arriving back at Sea-Tac at 9:25 p.m.
