Two men ordered jailed in May 20 shooting death of University Place man

Staff writerJune 20, 2014

Two men were ordered jailed Friday for investigation of murder in the May 20 shooting death of a University Place man.

Thomas Law II, 30, and Brandon Wilburn, 22, made first appearances in Pierce County Superior Court, where Commissioner Meagan Foley found probable cause to hold them in lieu of $1 million bail each until an arraignment Tuesday.

That’s when prosecutors will decide on formal charges.

Sheriff’s detectives believe the men are responsible for the death of Phillip Little.

Little, 27, was shot to death behind a strip mall near South 56th and Orchard streets. Witnesses reported seeing two men fleeing the scene.

A motive has not been publicly discussed, but authorities said that area is a place where illegal drugs are bought and sold.
