Myrtle Beach, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Dave McNabb and Johan Kok both shot 5- under 67s on Sunday and they share a 1-shot lead after the first round of the PGA Professional National Championship.

With a field of 311 players, the tournament is split up into two different courses. McNabb played his first round at the Grande Dunes Resort Club, while Kok played at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

McNabb started off strong, making three straight pars before making his first birdie at No. 4. He added two straight birdies at seven and eight before tripping up at No. 9 and making a bogey.

Five straight pars from No. 10 had McNabb at 2-under, but he made birdies at 15, 17 and 18 to vault into first place.

Kok used a barrage of birdies on the back nine at 12, 14, 16 and 17 to make the turn at minus-4.

He stumbled to his lone bogey of the round at the first. Kok added birdies at three and seven to gain a share of the lead.

Jamie Broce and Ryan Helminen, both of which played at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, finished their first rounds with matching 68s and they currently sit one shot back of the lead at 4-under.

Bob Sowards, who won this title back in 2004, sits three shots back at 2-under 70. He was joined in a tie for fifth place by nine other players.
