Films under the stars around South Sound

Summer is finally here, bringing with it the free outdoor family movie season. Two options are Friday (June 27) with “The Lego Movie” playing in Frederickson and “Frozen” showing in Lakewood.

‘The Lego Movie’

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday (June 27)

Where: Sound Life Church, 3425 176th St. E., Tacoma

“The Lego Movie” will be on the big screen for Frederickson Outdoor Movie Night at Sound Life Church. The PG-rated 2014 animated film has a running time of 1:40.

The film starts at dusk, but the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with pony rides, vendor booths, games, food and more. If the weather is uncooperative, the movie will be moved indoors.

“Frozen” is the choice for Navy Federal Credit Union’s Movie under the Stars at Fort Steilacoom Park. The animated 2013 feature has a running time of 1:48 and is rated PG.

Pre-movie activities begin at 7:30 p.m. and include inflatables, face-painting, music and concessions. The movie starts at approximately 9:40 p.m.
