Wings & Wheels features cars, planes and fun at Narrows Airport

Top off your holiday weekend with a trip over the bridge to the Wings & Wheels show at Tacoma Narrows Airport, 1202 26th Ave. NW, Gig Harbor.

It’s an aviation event with a car show, featuring bi-plane rides, cars and aircraft, live music and the Smoke ‘N’ Thunder Jet Dragster making a 300 mph run down the runway. There will also be three hours of aerial demonstrations and displays, featuring warbirds and aerobatic airplanes.

It’s all happening from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 adults, $10 seniors and military ID card holders, $5 kids 6 to 17 and free for kids 5 and younger. Airport parking will only be available for those with advance online tickets. Day-of-event ticket purchasers park in designated parking lots off-site and ride the shuttle. For all the details go to

Take the family to the circus at Circo Hermanos Vasquez in Puyallup

Circo Hermanos Vasquez comes to the Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave. SW, Puyallup this weekend, offering flying trapeze artists, clowns and other circus magic in the Purple Parking Lot. Shows are 2, 5 and 8 p.m. Sunday.

Enjoy free outdoor concert at Bands and Barbecue in Lacey

It’s finally outdoor concert season and the Bands and Barbecue series starts Sunday at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 4300 Carpenter Road SE, Lacey. The 6 p.m. concert will feature IJenNeh playing a mix of African, reggae, gospel and funk music. Admission is free.

Country music icon Dwight Yoakam plays Snoqualmie Casino

Since the early 1980s, Dwight Yoakam has recorded more than 21 albums and compilations, charted more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and sold more than 25 million records.
