Staff writerJuly 10, 2014

A University Place teacher was arrested Thursday on suspicion of selling Oxycodone and using heroin.

Local and federal officers served a search warrant at a home in the 8400 block of Phillips Road SW in Lakewood. The teacher, 33, was taken into custody without incident nearby.

Drugs were allegedly found inside vehicle.

The News Tribune is not identifying the teacher because he has yet to be charged.

“He admitted to selling the drugs but said he didn’t sell to students and not at school,” Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

The teacher allegedly admitted to smoking heroin during breaks at school and making deliveries during school hours.
