Summer fun at Steilacoom Park in Lakewood on Saturday

SummerFEST at Fort Steilacoom Park on Saturday is a free family event that features a market, entertainment stages, a community pool (with swimming lessons), a classic car show and food vendors.

A KidZone will have a petting zoo, bouncy house and other activities.

West Pierce Fire & Rescue will give safety demonstrations and sell bike helmets and life vests.

Attendees can finish off the day with an outdoor movie, “Jurassic Park,” which will begin at dusk.

Also on Saturday is the third annual Lakewood SummerFEST Triathlon. Participants will be swimming, cycling and running through Lakewood. The race starts at American Lake Park and ends at Fort Steilacoom Park. The triathlon is open to individuals ($40) and teams ($90).
