Puyallup tribe buys Northeast Tacoma golf course

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians is buying the 54-year-old North Shore Golf Course in Northeast Tacoma, the tribe announced Tuesday. Effective Sept. 9, the tribe and Marine View Ventures, its economic development arm, will acquire the 18-hole public course. Daily operations will be handled by Columbia Hospitality and local professional golfer Ryan Moore’s company Ryan Moore Golf.

The Washington State Fair in Puyallup will henceforth run 21 days and start on Labor Day weekend – good changes, both. But in the long run, fair officials should chew on a basic question: Can working-class people continue to afford to take their families there?
