We also encourage you to contact our Reader Representative.

Events for our calendars require information in writing two weeks before publication. Likewise, business appointments are published on a space-available basis in "Moving Up" in the Business section, and information is required two weeks prior to the desired publication day.

How do I announce special occasions like engagements, weddings or births?
Announce your special event on our Special Occasions advertising page. Rates, deadlines, and guidelines are available by calling 253-428-8000.

The News Tribune prints birth announcements free of charge, however, some hospitals no longer provide this information for publication.

How do I run an obituary?
Obituaries are likewise paid announcements. Call 253-597-8605 for information on rates and deadlines.

How do I express my opinions, suggestions or compliments on editorial content?
We’d love to hear from you! Please contact us by writing a Letter to the Editor, by e-mailing your comments to reader.representative@thenewstribune.com or by personally calling our Reader Rep at 253-597-8432.

How do I get permission to reprint articles?
Please contact our Newsroom Librarian at 253-597-8626. Everything in The News Tribune is copyrighted and may not be used without permission, which under most circumstances is granted.

Can I order News Tribune photos?
Yes, photo reprints are available by calling 253-597-8629.

By what time should my paper be delivered?
Daily by 6:30 a.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays by 7:30 a.m.

How do I stop my paper for vacation?
Simply contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at 1-800-289-8711 or use our online vacation stop form. We will set it up so that your paper stops when you go on vacation and automatically restarts upon your return. Or you can call us when you return to restart your paper. The days you do not receive your paper will extend your subscription expiration date or will be credited to your account depending on your payment method. Or you can donate your papers to our Newspaper in Education program or have us save your papers in a VacPak for delivery upon your return.

How do I report delivery issues or missed papers?
Contact our Customer Service representatives at 1-800-289-8711. We will deliver you a paper that same day if you contact us by 10:00 a.m. (In most delivery areas) There is also an online Delivery Issues form that you can fill out and send us.

I’ll be out of town for a year. Can I get The News Tribune?
Mail subscriptions are available. Call 1-800-289-8711 for Mailed Subscriptions to set this up.

What do I do if a news rack takes my money?
Contact our Single Copy staff at 253-274-7322. They will be happy to reimburse you.

How do I become a News Tribune carrier?

We would love to talk with you! Contact the Distribution Center closest to the area you would like to deliver the paper in to talk with a Branch or District Manager.

Carriers are independent contractors and must have a valid driver’s license.

How do I convert from paying my carrier to paying through the mail?
We encourage you to set up a convenient pay-by-mail account by calling any of our Customer Service Representatives at 1-800-289-8711. Or, sign up for our convenient EZ Pay program and get our lowest subscription rate! You can now request a form online to set this up.

Who do I call with questions about my bill?

Please call our Customer Service Representatives at 1-800-289-8711. They will be happy to answer your questions or will direct you to an account specialist who can. The back of your bill also has information that may be helpful.

How do I buy back issues of the paper?
If you live in the area, come into our main lobby to purchase back issues of The News Tribune. We try to have papers available from as far back as a year ago, however, we may be out of specific days. Papers are also available through the mail. The cost, including postage, is $3.35 for daily papers and $4.50 for Sunday. Contact us at 253-597-8715 or 253-597-8723 or e-mail us.

Can I order a paper as a gift for a relative or friend?
Absolutely. Just call a Customer Service representative to set this up at 1-800-289-8711.

Do you have an automatic payment option to pay for my subscription?
We do! Contact a Customer Service Representative if you would like to pay for your News Tribune subscription through our EZ Pay option. If you want to set this up through your credit card, we can do that over the phone. If you would like to set this up through automatic deductions from your savings or checking account, we will be happy to send you an authorization form. Processing takes approximately 4 weeks for the latter. Please call 1-800-289-8711 or request an EZ Pay form online.

Does The News Tribune make donations to organizations or individuals?
Please call our Employee Relations Department at 253-597-8575 to ask about donations for your organization.

Do you have a Newspaper in Education program?
We have an established Newspapers in Education program with strong support and participation from the South Sound educational community.  We Currently support over 29,000 students each week in over 40 South Sound districts.  Teachers use or newspapers and curriculum material as an educational tool in the classroom.  There is no cost to teachers or to schools as our program is entirely paid for by business sponsors and our subscribers' through our Vacation Donation program.

How do I access articles online & how far back do your archives go?
Articles up to 30 days old can be accessed for free on our web site. Articles older than 30 days can also be accessed at a cost. Please go to our archives for complete details.

Are you hiring?
Visit our employment section for current job openings or come into our lobby to fill out a job application for the type of job you are interested in. If you have specific questions about jobs at the paper, please call the Employment number at 253-597-8575.

Do you use free-lancers in your Editorial Department?
Yes, we include articles written by free-lancers, but we do not accept unsolicited stories. If you’d like to write occasionally for The News Tribune as a free-lance writer, contact the team leader who oversees the area you’re interested in writing about. Contact our Reader Rep at 253-597-8432 or our main Newsroom at 253-597-8686 for specific team leader names.

Does The News Tribune conduct tours?
Yes, tours are available by calling the Tour number at 253-274-7394. Tours are conducted Thursdays at 10:00AM by appointment only. Participants must be at least 10 years of age.  Groups larger than 15 require special arrangements.

Does The News Tribune sponsor events?
Yes, The News Tribune is very active in the community. If your organization is interested in partnering with The News Tribune, please call the Events & Sponsorships number at 253-597-8809.

Does The News Tribune have a Speaker’s bureau?
The News Tribune does not have a formal Speaker’s Bureau, however, many newsroom, research, business and advertising employees are happy to talk with your group. Please call the specific department at The News Tribune that best matches your area of interest.

Do you sell end rolls of the paper to organizations?
End rolls are distributed between 9:00-11:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Reservations need to be made in advance by calling 597-8787. End rolls cost $2.50 each.
