Fishery managers from Washington and Oregon are meeting this morning in Portland to review salmon and steelhead stock status and consider non-Indian commercial and recreational fishing seasons in the Columbia River and select areas. The discussions will include the recreational spring salmon fisheries.

The state is closing a portion of the Nisqually River to fishing beginning Sunday morning. Fishing will close at 12:01 a.m. Sunday from the mouth to the military tank crossing bridge located one mile upstream of the mouth of Muck Creek.
