Lake Quinault Lodge will host the sixth annual Quinault Rain Forest Mushroom Festival Oct. 17 through 19.
The event will feature guided mushroom walks, mushroom collecting seminars, a chain-saw mushroom-carving presentation, identification classes and tips for growing mushrooms at home, said a news release from event organizers.
Speakers will include the lodge’s executive chef, Patrick Norris, who will host a “Cooking with Mushrooms” demonstration and discuss mushroom-inspired recipes. Steven Trudell, a professional mycologist and University of Washington professor, will give a presentation on mushroom collecting, fungi and forest health and mushroom identification.
Admission to the festival is $20 and is free for children 5 and younger.
