This year’s Women in the Outdoors program at Fort Lewis will be July 25.
The one-day event, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., is designed to introduce women to a variety of outdoor skills. The program is for people ages 14 and older. This year’s topics include: shooting handguns and shotguns, archery, rock climbing, Dutch oven cooking, kayaking, using maps and land navigation and wilderness survival.
The cost is $50 a person, $45 if you register before Sunday or bring a friend and $75 for mother/daughter teams. The fee includes instruction, lunch, membership in Women in the Outdoors and four issues of WITO magazine.
Registration is required by July 18. For more information, call Megan Arnott at 253-735-7828.
