More than 110 surfers and environmentalists will be in Westport on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the seventh Clean Water Classic, the Northwest’s largest surf contest.

The event raises money for the Northwest’s Surfrider Foundation.

“This is a low-key event on a global scale and this is what we love about the Classic,” said Mark Kelly, president of event sponsor Global Surf Industries.

About 500 spectators are expected.

Funds raised by the event go to Surfrider Foundation campaigns designed to improve water quality, beach access, healthy oceans and shoreline preservation.

This year’s event will include a stand-up paddle demonstration.

Live music will be performed by Seattle’s Panda Conspiracy.
