It’s almost fall, and it’s time to vote. We’re not talking about that election. That’ll be here soon enough. In this election, you can vote for your favorite play, musical act, art exhibition or whatever else you like to do for entertainment in the South Sound.
Here’s the good news: There’s no mudslinging, debates or scandals. The list of candidates is huge, and every one of them is a winner. Their platforms have something for everyone, no matter the political leaning.
Republican? Check out the elephants and all the other animals at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, which is open daily.
Blue stater? Catch Tom Robbins’ counterculture classic “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues” on Oct. 17.
Green? Head to the Nisqually Watershed Festival on Sept. 27.
Apolitical? The Capitol Steps skewer all things political Sept. 21.
We’ve printed the list of possibilities here starting and a constantly updated version lives online at calendar.thenewstribune.com. But don’t look for a ballot. The only voting you’ll be doing is with your feet and your hands. But vote early, often and for as many candidates as you can. Your country needs you.
