Wal-Mart Stores Inc. began offering three months worth of prescription drugs for $10, stepping up the fight to attract U.S. consumers seeking cheaper medicines.

Wal-Mart’s discount stores, Neighborhood Market supermarkets and Sam’s Club pharmacies are filling prescriptions for as many as 350 generic medications at $10 for a 90-day supply. The expanded drug program also adds more than 1,000 over-the-counter medicines for $4 or less. The program started Monday.
