Kumon Math and Reading, an after-school education program, has recently opened a center at 5703 N. 26th St. in Tacoma. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the learning method uses a systematic individualized approach that helps children develop a solid command of math and reading skills.

The community is invited to the grand opening celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27.

Jennifer Jensen, the new center’s director, is a certified Kumon instructor with 16 years of workplace instructional experience. The Tacoma center is open for parent orientations on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact Jensen at 253-212-0513 or visit www.kumonoftacoma-northend.com.
