Judge says suit against Amazon can proceed
Amazon.com Inc. must face a lawsuit accusing the company of violating antitrust laws through its print-on-demand services, a Maine judge ruled, denying a request to dismiss the case.
BookLocker sued last year over claims Amazon was forcing publishers of print-on-demand books to use its BookSurge service or risk losing access to the “Add to Shopping Cart” button on its Web site.
U.S. District Judge John Woodcock Jr. said Thursday that BookLocker’s case shouldn’t be dismissed because its allegations have “enough heft.”
