They’ll be no solar energy displays, beekeeping seminars or Ed Begley Jr. in Puyallup in June. The Mother Earth News Fair, which for the last four years has been at the Washington State Fairgrounds, has moved to Albany, Oregon, for 2015.
“We didn’t see the kind of growth we were hoping for in the four years we were in Puyallup, so we’re testing a new location for 2015,” said Brandy Ernzen, a brand manager with Ogden Publications, the publisher of Mother Earth News.
The fair, which has four other locations around the U.S., is a weekend of seminars, displays and demonstrations themed on the back-to-the-land movement and sustainable lifestyles. Subjects include raising chickens, growing medicinal herbs, making cheese, buying tractors, producing alcohol fuel and hundreds of others.
Actor and environmentalist Begley would usually deliver the keynote presentation at the fair.
