For all you car, motorcycle and plane fans, the Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels Airshow is taking over the Tacoma Narrows Airport, 1110 26th Ave. NW, Gig Harbor. It will feature a car and motorcycle show, live entertainment, race cars, World War II B-17 Flying Fortress and the Smoke ‘N’ Thunder Jet Dragster making a 300-mph run down the runway. The Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival in Seattle is designed to celebrate the maritime heritage of Seattle and get people out on the water on historic wooden boats. It’s an old-fashioned waterfront festival where almost everything is free. There will be boat tours, visiting vessels, free public boat rides, activities for kids, vendors, live music and more. It’s at the Center for Wooden Boats on South Lake Union. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to cwb.org.
Enjoy a day of pioneer games, storytelling, arts and crafts and dress-up at the Meeker Mansion Family Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. This month’s theme is “Know Your Roots” and will include an opportunity to make a family tree. It’s being held at the mansion, 312 Spring St., Puyallup, and cost is $10 per family.
