Wild Nitro Circus comes to the Tacoma Dome
Born from DVDs produced in a garage in Utah in 2003, Nitro Circus has grown to global popularity. With a mission to deliver the biggest and best, mind blowing cross-platform entertainment for daredevils and risk-taking wannabes, the group with featured rider Travis Pastrana is on tour with its Nitro Circus Live show. See it live in a 7:30 p.m. performance Tuesday at the Tacoma Dome. Tickets are $39-$99 and are available through Ticketmaster.
Metal band Godsmack plays ShoWare Center in Kent
Formed in 1995, the alternative metal band Godsmack has since released six albums, with three being consecutive number-one albums on Billboard 200, plus 20 Top 10 rock radio hits. The group has toured with Ozzfest, as well as other large tours and festivals. As part of its fall tour, the group will be coming to ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St., Kent, for an 8 p.m. concert Tuesday. Tickets are $27.50-$55 and are available online at showarecenter.com.
Author Shawn Wong talks about experiences teaching veterans
Join Author Shawn Wong as he discusses what he has learned from teaching veterans at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on how to construct the stories of their lives in writing. His presentation “Defending Your Voice: Teaching Soldiers How to Tell Their Stories,” explores how veterans’ stories can help communities and soldiers learn to share, hear, understand and gain insight into the traumas of war.
