If you watch “Comedy Central,” you’ve probably heard Kyle Kinane, as the husky, just-heading-out-of-the-bar voice telling you to listen in “Friday night on Comedy Central!” But the voice promo star of the cable comedy channel is also a stand-up comic in his own right, and this weekend he’ll be at the Tacoma Comedy Club.
With jokes like how your bones sound at 38 (like the tail-end of a bag of microwave popcorn), Kinane’s had spots on both Comedy Central and “The Tonight Show,” and recently had the third-best comedy special of 2015, according to Vulture.
Also an actor and writer, Kinane has two comedy DVD releases (“Whiskey Icarus” and “I Liked His Old Stuff Better”) and was named one of Variety’s 10 comedians to watch in 2010.
Kinane will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, and 8 p.m. (18 and older) and 10:30 p.m. (21 and older) Friday (Feb. 5) and Saturday at the Tacoma Comedy Club, 933 Market St., Tacoma. $18-$22. 253-282-7203, tacomacomedyclub.com, kylekinane.com.
