INTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT AT THE RIALTO
Since 1995, International Guitar Night has brought the world’s finest guitarist composers together on one stage to play original music and share ideas. Now the event comes to the Rialto Theater, featuring American classical Grammy winner Andrew York, Brazilian jazz master Diego Figuierido, and Iranian acoustic guitarist and composer Maneli Jamal. TOTAL EXPERIENCE GOSPEL CHOIR AT UPS
To close out Black History Month, the Total Experience Gospel Choir brings its ebullient singing to the University of Puget Sound for a free concert this weekend. With former members that include American Idol star Sanjaya and Macklemore’s Ray Dalton, the choir has sung internationally and around the country, and is accompanied by spoken word from ABC award-winning director Pat Wright. SALISH SEA PRESENTS BACH SONATAS
Harpsichordist Hans-Jürgen Schnoor, viola da gambist Susie Napper and baroque flutist Jeffrey Cohan combine for a concert of Bach trio sonatas, part of the ongoing Salish Sea Early Music Festival and including the “Musical Offering” sonata BWV 1079. FLAMENCO AT THE NEW FRONTIER
Seattle flamenco dancer Savannah Fuentes kicks off her latest American tour with a show at Tacoma’s New Frontier Lounge March 5. “La Primavera: Flamenco en Vivo” features Spanish singer Kina Mendez of the Mendez Gypsy clan from Jerez and guitarist Gerardo Alcala; the 27-date tour continues down the West Coast to Houston, Texas.
