Tacoma’s Urban Sketchers group kicks off 2016 with a meet-up at the historic Meeker Mansion in Puyallup, which will still have holiday decorations up. The group is for people who like to sketch the places they live, work or visit.

Plein air art at American Art Co.

Vote for a show at Tacoma Art Museum
For its 80th birthday, Tacoma Art Museum is asking Tacomans to choose the art for an exhibit. “Celebrating 80 Years: People’s Choice” will open Jan. 30, but until Jan. 10 visitors get the chance to vote for which art from the museum’s collection of European and American art will be in it. Vote at tacomaartmuseum.org, on TAM’s Facebook page or in person at the museum, which is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays.
