Often referred to as the “godmother of soul,” Patti LaBelle will team up with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra for a performance Sept. 21 at the Washington State Fair.
Tickets for the concert, announced Friday, go on sale at 10 a.m. May 2.
Labelle’s career of more than 50 years includes No. 1 hits “Lady Marmalade,” “On My Own” sung with Michael MacDonald, “If Only You Knew” and “Come What May.”
The rhythm and blues star has sold over 50 million records worldwide. She has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Apollo Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. The World Music Awards presented LaBelle with the Legend Award in 2005.
Tickets prices will be $75 for Golden Circle, $50 and $28, and include admission to the fair.
The Washington State Fair will run from Sept. 11-27.
