Buttered Biscuit Too, the second outpost for Sumner’s Buttered Biscuit restaurant, opened Monday in Bonney Lake.
The restaurant is the second for Tami Haskins, who opened her first Buttered Biscuit in downtown Sumner in 2007. She previously operated the Sweet Shoppe in Buckley from 2005-2007. She’ll continue to operate the original Buttered Biscuit.
The restaurant is known for ample portion sizes and a comfort food menu. Haskins calls her kind of cooking “gramma style.” The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The outpost’s menu is the same as the downtown Sumner eatery. A recent menu makeover offered something unusual in South Sound, an entire page of po’ boy sandwiches.
The Bonney Lake restaurant follows the same footprint of its predecessor, the short-lived Whitehouse restaurant. A 21-and-older bar is to the left of the entrance, dual dining rooms are to the right. The front entryway, an awkward space in the restaurant’s former life, is now outfitted with a long cushioned booth for waiting. Hanging throughout the restaurant are family photos.
