Three events for your dining calendar in March have one common theme — beer (and food that goes well with it).
March 19: Harmon Brewing and Social Bar and Grill are teaming up Thursday for a beer-paired dinner at Social Bar and Grill, 1715 Dock St., Tacoma. Tickets are $40 per person, or $75 per couple. The four-course menu includes Irish sausage, a salad with an Irish whiskey-hazelnut dressing, corned beef stuffed cabbage and Bailey’s custard. Paired beers will include the Harmon’s Eagle Point oatmeal pale ale, Pinnacle Peak pale ale, Stryker Stout and mocha porter. Menu and more details here.
March 20: Drink beer for a good cause. Wingman Brewers at 8 p.m. on Friday will release its seasonal brew Old Plank pilsner at its Tacoma taproom, 509 1/2 Puyallup Ave., Tacoma. The brew is a collaboration with the band Rusty Cleavers, with sales benefitting the YWCA at the free show. After the event, 10 percent of can sales will be donated to the YWCA. More info here.
March 28: Tickets are in short supply for the Museum of Glass annual slider cook-off at 6:30 p.m. March 28. The cooking event is a sandwich smackdown between local chefs, and held at the museum, 1801 Dock St., Tacoma. Cooking will be chefs from Tacoma restaurants Dirty Oscar’s Annex, Engine House No. 9, the Hub, Metropolitan Market, Stanley and Seafort’s and The Valley. Seattle restaurant Pinky’s also will compete. The event will feature brew from Pacific Brewing. Tickets are $40 in advance, with half-price tickets for museum members. Tickets are $45 at the door, but are expected to sell out ahead of the event. More info here.
