Pacific Grill wine dinner: A few seats are left for the Sleight of Hand Cellars wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 29). The dinner will pair six courses with six wines from the Walla Walla winery. Find more details about the dinner here.
Dining Out for Life: The annual national dining event raises money for AIDS service organizations. The Pierce County AIDS Foundation is sponsoring this year’s local event, held April 30 at more than 50 restaurants. To participate, simply dine out at a participating restaurant. Find participating restaurants and the percentage of their donations here. Reservations are highly recommended.
New on the shelf: Ice cream from Tacoma’s Ice Cream Social is now available in University Place at the Harbor Greens grocery store. The ice cream company, founded by Layla Isaac, opened a scoop shop in July in Tacoma’s Sixth Avenue neighborhood. Coming soon to the shelf: A new brew from Narrows Brewing will debut in May at the Tacoma brewery and on the shelf at Chambers Bay Whole Foods Market, which opens in University Place on May 7.
