Someone needs to take down the restaurant for sale/lease sign beneath BBQ Pete's sign at 72nd Street and Portland Avenue in Tacoma. While they're at it, they can take down the sign for BBQ Pete's, which closed last year amid tax issues.
It's time now to put up a sign for Honey Bee. That's the name of the new barbecue restaurant that's moved into Pete's old pit.
Honey Bee's owners hooked up with BBQ Pete's old barbecue crew. The menu and the decor will be familiar to those who enjoyed BBQ Pete's. If you didn't have the opportunity to try BBQ Pete's, now's a good time.
Meanwhile, Kelly Kearsley on the TNT business beat informs me that Kevin Roy has sold From the Bayou in Parkland to a trio of Yelm caterers. The menu and the decor will stay untouched. Kevin Roy will stick around during the transition, after which he'll head home to Louisiana.
