It’s May the Fourth, Star Wars Fan. And here’s one Tacoma eatery with a theme built just for you.
“A good chunk of the staff are ‘Star Wars’ fans here,” said Sayge Isaac of the Tacoma-based company founded by her mother, Layla. Sayge is the co-manager of the Sixth Avenue ice cream store. For weeks, she and co-workers have been hatching a “Star Wars”-themed May the Fourth ice cream day.
“We came up with (five) ‘Star Wars’-themed ice creams,” said Sayge. “There were more, but many of them didn’t make it.”
What did make the cut will be on the menu for today — until supplies last.
Never miss a local story.
There’s Darth Mault, which is dark chocolate malt ice cream. C3-Pecan, which is, you guessed it, butter pecan. Wookiees and Cream is what you think it is, with chocolate cream filled cookies mixed in. Attack of the Cones Sundae includes chocolate-coated waffle cones that have been broken up and swirled into vanilla ice cream, with hot fudge, peanut butter cups, whipped cream and a cherry. The Force is a mix of light and dark chocolate, of course.
The ice cream will stay on the menu as long as the flavors last, but the regular names will return.
