A gourmet burger restaurant and whiskey bar will be Point Ruston’s next restaurant.
Mike Cohen, the developer behind Point Ruston, which straddles the borders of Tacoma and Ruston, said the restaurant and bar is from the same owners of WildFin American Grill, which is located near their next restaurant, Stack Burger and Whiskey Bar.
WildFin also operates the nearby walk-up fish and chips window called the Daily Catch.
Stack Burger will open in the space that was to hold Canada-based Vera’s Burger Shack, which announced in March it had reconsidered opening at Point Ruston.

The restaurant’s announcement said Stack Burger will open in October.
The menu includes an ode to meat squished between buns. Nine burgers go well beyond beef, but there’s plenty of Washington-raised beef burgers on the menu. The menu also lists a lamb burger with tzatziki mayo, olive relish and sweet peppers. A beef-chorizo hybrid burger will be paired with romesco aioli and manchego cheese. A veggie burger will be topped with a fried green tomato and pea sprouts. Sandwiches include a fried buffalo chicken sandwich, sockeye salmon sandwich and a tuna sandwich. Burger sides include truffle fries, beer battered onion rings, gorgonzola waffle fries and tempura green beans.
The 66-bottle whiskey list includes nearly 30 bourbons, numerous Northwest whiskeys, about a dozen rye whiskeys, as well as Tennessee, Canadian, Irish and Scottish whiskeys. Also find a list of craft cocktails, a South Sound-centric beer list and tap-based cocktails.
Also coming to Point Ruston is Jewel Box Cafe, which is under construction. Farrelli’s Wood Fire Pizza is also under construction at a nearby building.
