The Key Peninsula Fire Department would like to share information with the community about its budget, operations and goals for the next five years. It is seeking invitations to speak to local community service organizations, church groups, homeowner associations, or similar groups.

Donkey Creek project update

The one-way detour (for westbound traffic) will continue along North Harborview Drive for the week of April 1 until the waterline is installed to Burnham Drive. The water cut-in, tentatively scheduled for late next week (Thursday or Friday, April 4 or 5), will require a lane closure along North Harborview Drive and will impact the intersection with Burnham Drive. Local access will be available at all times from the north while Burnham Drive is closed to through traffic between North Harborview Drive and Franklin Avenue. Please follow detour signs.
New Michaels location set to open April 28

The new Michaels location at Gig Harbor's Point Fosdick Square shopping center will open on April 28. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m., and doors to the arts and crafts retailer will open at 10 a.m.

WSTC recommends toll increase for Narrows Bridge, wants public input

Toll customers and other interested persons will have an opportunity to comment on the Washington State Transportation Commissions toll-rate proposal for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The commission is proposing a 25-cent increase in 2013 and an additional 25-cent increase in 2014. The new rates would take effect on July 1 each year.
Donkey Creek project detour hours extended due to weather

Due to weather and field conditions slowing the pace of work and to avoid continuing the detour into the next week, detour hours related to the Donkey Creek project will be extended on Thursday and Friday, March 14-15.

The Washington State Transportation Commission will propose new toll rates for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and State Route 520 floating bridge, and consider the findings of an expert review panel on the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program at its meeting next week in Olympia.
Pierce Transit vanpool policy changes

On Monday evening the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners passed two policy changes related vanpool services; a general fare increase and toll recovery from groups that travel across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. They tabled a vote on a policy that would implement a change in the vanpool service area.
