There is a proposal to allow two- story (27 feet from sidewalk level) buildings in downtown Gig Harbor. I believe the area is roughly both sides of Harborview from the Harbor Peddler to the Green Turtle. Roughly, on Pioneer to above the Nappa Auto Parts store, over to Rosedale, and all along Judson and Uddenberg Lane to Soundview.

As a high school teacher who works with young parents in the Peninsula School District, I was informed of the budget cuts that face the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the potential impact it will have on services to families with low incomes on the Gig Harbor and Key peninsulas.

Gig Harbor has national- and international-level superstars who work out every day on the bay. Head coach Alan Anderson has built the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team from the ground up, and now he has several other high-quality volunteer coaches who really know their stuff.
