Fire District 5 EMS levy needs more time
Published: 04/04/12 12:39:55
Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One does an outstanding job putting out fires and providing medical care in our community. The department has a stellar reputation for doing its job in a highly professional and competent manner, as evidenced by the fact the department has never had a levy fail, dating back to the 1970s. But we don’t quite understand the timing of Proposition 1, an Emergency Medical Services levy that will be on the April 17 ballot.

State budget a sorry lesson in politics

OUR STORY on Peninsula High Schools particpation in TVWs Capitol Classroom program (see story here) details student exposure to the inner workings of the Washington State Legislature.
Or perhaps the word workings is not correct, given what is unfortunately becoming an annual tradition in Olympia: not producing a state budget on time.
