Peninsula High School student Marcy Channon has been selected to attend the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp, a two-week structured program from the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington to enhance understanding between American and Chinese students.

Lauren Littleton, program director of Two Waters Arts Alliance's "Artists in Schools," and Chris Bronstad, a Key Peninsula Middle School art and science teacher, recently teamed up on an after-school art club project. It involved the freely expressed creations of students from all KPMS grade levels who painted a mural for the school's commons.

It was a magical day for some students at Kopachuck Middle School. New York Times bestselling-author Marissa Meyer stopped by on her book tour June 4 to talk with students about her fantasy novels, the hard work that goes into being an author, and what it’s like since she’s achieved a certain level of success.

Something caused me to miss a great cultural-exchange event last month at Artondale Elementary School. But, thanks to Artondale Principal Jacque Crisman, Marita Paly of the Associates of Cultural Exchange and Mandy Afrassiabi, an Artondale PTA board member and parent of two children at the school, we have photos and comments from several who participated in what was clearly a delightful experience.

Board votes to terminate field agreement between school district, county

The Peninsula School District Board of Directors made official what had effectively been the case since 2005 by voting May 23 to terminate a joint agreement between the school district and Pierce County.
