Lakewood shooting HEADLINES

A Tacoma police tactical team worked with Renton police officers Monday night to confront a reported acquaintance of suspect Maurice Clemmons at a house on Renton Avenue South in Skyway.

At 8:14 a.m. Nov. 29, 2009, four Lakewood Police Department officers were gunned down at the Forza Coffee Co. shop in Parkland, Washington.

Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards were killed as they prepared for their Sunday shifts. Maurice Clemmons, a convicted felon, was identified as the shooter and a massive manhunt was launched.

Clemmons was shot and killed by a Seattle police officer two days later.
