At 25 hours, Sunday, Nov. 2, is the longest day of the year and Club Oly Road Runners plan to spend that extra hour pounding the pavement.
The club is holding its annual Turn Back the Clock Run starting at 8 a.m. at Lacey’s Rainier Vista Community Park, 5475 45th Ave. S.E. Race options are half marathon (13.1 miles) and 10 and 5 kilometers. A 1-mile family run is also scheduled.
The courses are relatively flat and portions of the races are on the Chehalis-Western Trail.
The race is $60 for half marathoners, $25 for the 10K and 5K. The shorter races start at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit high school running programs in Tumwater, Olympia and Lacey.
Registration closes Oct. 29.
This is the sixth year for the run, the second year it has been organized by Club Oly and the first year the event has included a half marathon.
