In years past, Sterling Savings Bank got one as did Ikea and Weyerhaeuser, and so did Jim’s Pharmacy up in Port Angeles.
Large businesses and small are eligible for the Secretary of State’s annual Corporations for Communities award, and nominations are now open.
The award recognizes corporations or businesses that “step up and do good things” in communities throughout the state.
That might mean donating money or supplies, or providing volunteers for worthwhile projects.
“Corporations for Communities is a great way for people to help recognize these companies that contribute to local causes. I’m proud that we can honor those businesses that make a real difference,” said Secretary of State Kim Wyman in a release Tuesday.
Anyone can nominate businesses – any for-profit corporation, limited liability company or limited partnership – for the award. Nominees must be registered with Secretary of State’s office. The two winners, one small and one large, will each receive a National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion.
The deadline for submission is Aug 31.
To make a nomination, forms are available at www.sos.wa.gov/corps/corpsforcommunities.
