More than 50 businesses will be offering jobs for military members, veterans and retirees Wednesday at Cheney Stadium at the second annual Boots2Work Military Career Fair.
WorkForce Central is partnering with the Tacoma Rainiers Baseball Club to present the free-to-job-seekers event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the stadium.
“We are very happy with the response of employers so far,” stated Shellie Willis, event organizer and Workforce Development Manager for WorkForce Central. “We anticipate over 500 participants interested in various industries and levels of employment. We are putting every resource we have into this.”
Among the more than four dozen businesses seeking new employees at the fair will be MultiCare Health System, Thyssen-Krupp Aerospace, United Parcel Service, General Plastics Manufacturing, Gordon Trucking, Starbucks and Wilcox Family Farms.
The fair will also include opportunities for post-career training and seminars on dressing correctly for interviews and non-military jobs.
