A puzzle: It’s what you’re doing right now that some people can’t.
They need help, and for you, it could mean a new job.
The Washington Reading Corps is seeking people 17 years and older who are interested in education and have the ability to help elementary school children learn to read.
There’s a deadline of Sept. 26 – that’s next Friday – for interested applicants.
Never miss a local story.
The Reading Corps is a part of the Washington Service Corps, which operates under the federal AmeriCorps umbrella, according to a Employment Security Department release Monday.
Positions are open in Tacoma and several other cities and towns.
Service Corps members make a 10½-month commitment to the job and receive a “modest living allowance, health insurance, training and an educational scholarship,” according to ESD.
